Irfan "Pipe"Smajlagić (born 16 October 1961) is a Bosnian-born Croatian formerhandball player and the current coach ofBorac Banja Luka. He competed in the1988 Summer Olympics forYugoslavia and in the1996 Summer Olympics forCroatia.
In 1988, he was part of theYugoslav national team, which won the bronze medal at the1988 Olympics. He played five matches and scored 14 goals.
Eight years later, he won the gold medal with theCroatian national team at the1996 Olympics. He played six matches and scored 31 goals.
He was inducted in theEuropean Handball Hall of Fame in 2023.[1]
His sonSven is a professionalbasketball player.[2]
