Ingedore Grünfeld Villaça Koch (22 September 1933 — 15 May 2018) was a Brazilian linguist known for her work ontext linguistics.[1][2] She was a professor at theUniversity of Campinas for almost three decades and anemerita researcher of the BrazilianNational Council for Scientific and Technological Development.[3][4] Koch is considered "one of the most respected figures of Brazilian linguistics" and her works are viewed as fundamental to the development of text linguistics in Brazil.[1][5] She was one of the founders of the Latin American Association of Discourse Studies.[2]
