TheIncarnate Word Cardinals men's basketball team represents theUniversity of the Incarnate Word inSan Antonio,Texas, United States. They are currently led by second-year head coach Shane Heirman. The Cardinals have never appeared in theNCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.
Beginning in 2013, the Cardinals made the jump toNCAA Division I and joined theSouthland Conference.[2] As part of their transition fromDivision II to Division I, they were not eligible for postseason play until 2018. They play their home games at theMcDermott Convocation Center.
The Cardinals have participated in oneCollege Basketball Invitational (CBI) tournament. Their record is 2–1.
