Imanol Uribe (born 28 February 1950) is aBasque Spanishscreenwriter andfilm director. He won the Goya Award for Best Director and Best Screenplay for the 1994 thrillerRunning Out of Time.[1]
Born inSan Salvador on 28 February 1950 to parents fromBiscay, Uribe was raised since age 7 in Biscay.[2] After earning alicentiate degree in journalism, he joined theEscuela Oficial de Cine [es], leaving the latter with a reputation as a politically combative filmmaker.[3] From 1982 to 2004, he was married toMaría Barranco, whom with he has had one child in common.[2][4] He has won theGoya Award for Best Director forDías contados as well as the San Sebastian Film Festival'sGolden Shell forBwana.
