Ilija Vukotić (born 7 January 1999) is a Montenegrin professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forGreek Super League clubOFI.
Vukotić began his competitive football career at the age of 12.[1] On 21 March 2015, he scored againstBerane in his debut forGrbalj, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of theMontenegrin First League aged 16 years, 73 days.[1]
In the summer of 2017, Vukotić moved to Portugal, joiningBenfica's youth setup.[2]
On 17 August 2021, Vukotić signed a new contract with Benfica and was immediately loaned toPrimeira Liga clubBoavista for two seasons.[3] In the summer of 2022, Vukotić permanently joined Boavista as part of the deal that sentPetar Musa to Benfica. Benfica retained 50% of Vukotić's economic rights and a buy-back option.[4]
He debuted forMontenegro on 13 November 2021 in a2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match againstthe Netherlands.[5] He came on as a substitute in the 69th minute, with Montenegro trailing 2–0, and scored in the 82nd minute to bring the score to 2–1, contributing to the eventual 2–2 final result.
