Ibrahim Šehić (pronounced[ibrâːximʃêːxitɕ]; born 2 September 1988) is a Bosnian professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper for1. Lig clubÇorum.
Šehić started his professional career atŽeljezničar, before joiningMersin Talim Yurdu in 2011. Two years later, he moved toQarabağ. In 2018, he signed withErzurumspor. Šehić switched toKonyaspor in 2020. Three years later, he was transferred toAl-Khaleej. He joined Çorum in 2025.
A former youth international forBosnia and Herzegovina, Šehić made his senior international debut in 2010, earning over 50caps until 2024.
Šehić came throughŽeljezničar's youth academy. He made his professional debut againstOrašje on 26 May 2007 at the age of 18.[1]
In June 2011, he joined Turkish clubMersin Talim Yurdu.[2]
In October 2013, Šehić was transferred to Azerbaijani sideQarabağ for an undisclosed fee.[3] On 24 November, he made his official debut for the team in a goalless draw againstRavan Baku.[4] He won his first trophy with the club on 7 May 2014, when they were crowned league champions.[5]
In December, he extended his contract with the squad until June 2018.[6]
He played his 100th game for the team againstGabala on 19 December 2015.[7]
Šehić helped Qarabağ make their first historicalUEFA Champions League appearance in the2017–18 season.[8] On 12 September 2017, he debuted in the competition away atChelsea,[9] and stood out during the group stage, as he was the goalkeeper with the most saves, having made 35 in six games.[10]
In July 2018, Šehić moved toErzurumspor on a three-year deal.[11] He made his competitive debut for the side againstRizespor on 24 August and kept a clean sheet.[12]
Šehić was an important piece in Erzurumspor's promotion to theSüper Lig just one season after being relegated. He did not concede a goal in 16 matches andcaptained the club.[13]
In August 2020, Šehić switched toKonyaspor on a two-year contract.[14] He debuted officially for the squad on 19 September againstGençlerbirliği and managed to prevent them from scoring.[15]
In November, he was named team captain.[16]
Šehić signed a new two-year deal with Konyaspor in November 2021.[17]
In February 2023, he prolonged his contract with the club until June 2025.[18]
In July, Šehić was transferred to Saudi Arabian outfitAl-Khaleej.[19]
In July 2025, he signed withÇorum.[20]
Šehić was a member of theBosnia and Herzegovina under-21 team for several years.[21]
In May 2010, he received his first senior call up, forfriendly games againstSweden andGermany,[22] but had to wait until 17 November to make his debut againstSlovakia.[23]
He retired from international football on 7 May 2024.[24]
Šehić married his long-time girlfriend Merjem in January 2020. Together they have a daughter named Esma.[25]
He is a practisingMuslim; together with international teammatesMuhamed Bešić,Armin Hodžić,Izet Hajrović,Sead Kolašinac,Edin Višća andErvin Zukanović he visited amosque inZenica during the national team's concentration.[26]
