Ibala bilinearis is a species ofspider in the familyGnaphosidae.[2] It is a southern Africanendemic species commonly known as thespotted Ibala flat-bellied ground spider.[3]
Ibala bilinearis is distributed acrossBotswana,Mozambique, andSouth Africa.[3] In South Africa, it is recorded from five provinces,Eastern Cape,Limpopo,Mpumalanga,Northern Cape, andWestern Cape, at altitudes ranging from 241 to 1,523 m above sea level.[3]
The species is a free-living ground dweller sampled fromNama Karoo,Savanna, andThicketbiomes as well as in agro-ecosystems including cotton fields and pistachio orchards.[3]

Ibala bilinearis is listed asLeast Concern by theSouth African National Biodiversity Institute due to its wide range.[3] It is protected in more than 10 protected areas.[3]
The species was originally described byTucker in 1923 fromHanover in theNorthern Cape asSetaphis bilinearis.[1] It was revised by Fitzpatrick (2009).[3]
