Ian Freer

British non-fiction author, film magazine editor and newspaper writer
For the British general, seeIan Freer (British Army officer).

Ian Freer is a Britishnon-fictionauthor,film magazine editor and newspaper writer who has written several books relating to films.

He is currently employed with the film magazineEmpire and is one of their senior reviewers as well as the assistanteditor of the magazine.[1]

He is also a writer for several newspapers, including theDaily Telegraph and theGuardian covering film subjects and film history.[2][3]

In 2010, he appeared in the documentary comedy filmThe People vs. George Lucas.

Works

In 2007, he authoredThe Complete Spielberg, a guide to the films ofSteven Spielberg.[4]

In 2009, he authored a titleMovie Makers: 50 Iconic Directors from Chaplin to the Coen Brothers, published by Quercus that covers film directors includingCharlie Chaplin,Quentin Tarantino, andDavid Lean among others.[5]
