ISO 3166-2:SD is the entry forSudan inISO 3166-2, part of theISO 3166standard published by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO), which definescodes for the names of the principalsubdivisions (e.g.,provinces orstates) of allcountries coded inISO 3166-1.
Currently for Sudan, ISO 3166-2 codes are defined for18 states.
Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part isSD, theISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of Sudan. The second part is two letters.
