TheICC Cricket Hall of Fame recognises "the achievements of the legends of the game fromcricket's long and illustrious history".[1] It was launched by theInternational Cricket Council (ICC) inDubai on 2 January 2009, in association with theFederation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA), as part of the ICC's centenary celebrations.[1] The initial inductees were the 55 players included in the FICA Hall of Fame which ran from 1999 to 2003,[2] but further members are added each year during theICC Awards ceremony.[1] The inaugural inductees ranged fromW. G. Grace, who retired fromTest cricket in 1899, toGraham Gooch, who played his last Test match in 1995.[3] Living inductees receive a commemorativecap; AustralianRod Marsh was the first member of the initial inductees to receive his. Members of the Hall of Fame assist in the selection of future inductees.[2]

South AfricanBarry Richards played the fewest Test matches during his career with four, beforeSouth Africa were excluded from participating ininternational cricket in 1970.[4] IndianSachin Tendulkar, inducted in July 2019, played the most Tests with 200 in an international career spanning 24 years. Out of 115 inductees in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame, 83 are fromEngland,Australia and theWest Indies, while the other 32 inductees are from the remaining Test playing nations,India,New Zealand,Pakistan,South Africa,Sri Lanka andZimbabwe.

As of 2024, there are 13 women in the Hall of Fame. In 2010,Rachael Heyhoe Flint, the former England captain who ledher team to victory at the inauguralWomen's World Cup in 1973, became the first woman in the Hall of Fame;[5] the twelve other female members areBelinda Clark, inducted in 2011,[6]Enid Bakewell, inducted in 2012,[7]Debbie Hockley, inducted in 2013,[8]Betty Wilson, inducted in 2015,Karen Rolton, inducted in 2016,Claire Taylor, inducted in 2018,[9]Cathryn Fitzpatrick, inducted in 2019[10]Lisa Sthalekar, inducted in 2020,[11]Jan Brittin, inducted in 2021,[12]Charlotte Edwards inducted in 2022,[13]Diana Edulji, inducted in 2023,[14] andNeetu David, inducted in 2024.[15]

Steve Waugh played forAustralia in 168 Test matches over 20 years.
Jacques Kallis, the first and onlyall-rounder to achieve the doubles of 10,000 runs and 250 wickets in Tests andOne Day Internationals.
