Hyakkai-Zukan (百怪図巻, "The Illustrated Volume of a Hundred Demons") is a picture scroll byEdo periodJapanese artist Sawaki Suushi. Completed in 1737, this scroll is a supernaturalbestiary, a collections of ghosts, spirits and monsters (Yōkai), which Suushi based onliterature,folklore, otherartwork. These images had a profound influence on subsequentyōkai imagery in Japan for generations.[1]
