"Hustlin'" is the debut single by American rapperRick Ross, and the first single from his debut albumPort of Miami, produced byThe Runners.[1]
The song was a breakthrough for Ross, and skyrocketed him to worldwide fame almost overnight. It peaked at number 54 on the USBillboard Hot 100, and led to Ross becoming the subject of a bidding war, receiving offers fromDiddy'sBad Boy Entertainment andIrv Gotti'sMurder Inc., before signing a multi-million-dollar deal withDef Jam Recordings.[2][3]
The song is featured on the track list of thevideo gameSkate.[4] It is also featured in comedy filmsWe're the Millers andIdentity Thief, as well as “9 Days”, aseason 3 episode of the scripted comedy seriesBrooklyn Nine-Nine. ComedianKatt Williams devised a comedy routine using the song's chorus to punctuate his humor; the routine is seen in the 2007 filmAmerican Hustle, and Williams later reprised the routine for one of his Split Sides Comedy Club performance segments in the 2008 video gameGrand Theft Auto IV.[5]
