Huraysun (Arabic:حريصون; also transliteratedHarisun), also known asQamu (Arabic:القاموع) is a village in northwesternSyria, administratively part of theBaniyas District of theTartus Governorate, located east ofBaniyas. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics, Huraysun had a population of 2,765 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are mostlyAlawites.[2]
