Bleis was signed by theBoston Red Sox on January 15, 2021, and received a $1.5 million signing bonus.[4] He was assigned to theDominican Summer League Red Sox to begin his professional career and hit for a .252 average in 36 games.[5] Bleis spent the 2022 season with the Rookie-levelFlorida Complex League Red Sox and had a .301/.353/.542slash line with 14 doubles, four triples, and five home runs while driving in 27 runs, scoring 28 runs, and stealing 18 bases over 40 games.[6][7] His season ended in August after he experienced back tightness.[8]
Bleis entered the 2023 season ranked as a consensus top-100 prospect.[9] He was assigned to theSalem Red Sox of theSingle-ACarolina League at the beginning of the season.[10] In 31 games, Bleis slashed .230/.282/.325 with 1 home run, 16 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. On June 10, 2023, it was announced that Bleis would undergo surgery on his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the season.[11] Bleis began the 2024 season with Salem, ranked as the Red Sox' number five minor-league prospect byBaseball America.[12]

Dobbins playedcollege baseball atTexas Tech University. He missed his entire junior season in 2021 after undergoingTommy John Surgery.[13] He was selected by theBoston Red Sox in the eighth round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft.[14][15]

Drohan attendedCardinal Newman High School inWest Palm Beach, Florida. He was drafted by thePhiladelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the2017 Major League Baseball Draft.[19] He did not sign with the Phillies and playedcollege baseball atFlorida State University. In 2019, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theFalmouth Commodores of theCape Cod Baseball League.[20] After three years, he was drafted by theBoston Red Sox in the fifth round of the2020 MLB Draft.[21][22]
Drohan made his professional debut in 2021 with theSalem Red Sox. He played 2022 with the Greenville Drive andPortland Sea Dogs and started 2023 with Portland.[23]
On December 6, 2023, theChicago White Sox selected Drohan from the Red Sox in theRule 5 draft.[24] On February 22, 2024, Drohan underwent a nerve decompression procedure on his left shoulder,[25] and was placed on the 60–day injured list to begin the season.[26] On June 9, Drohan was activated from the injured list and subsequentlydesignated for assignment.[27] On June 12, Drohan was returned to the Red Sox organization.[28]

Ferguson playedcollege baseball atTennessee for three seasons. In 2019, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theFalmouth Commodores of theCape Cod Baseball League.[29] He compiled a .333batting average with twohome runs and ninestolen bases before his 2020 sophomore season at Tennessee was cut short due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[30] As a junior, Ferguson batted .253 with 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases.[31]
Ferguson was selected in the fifth round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft by theSan Diego Padres.[32] After signing with the team he was assigned to theRookie-levelArizona Complex League Padres before being promoted to theLake Elsinore Storm ofLow-A West and batted .212 with 29 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 37 games between the two teams.[33] Ferguson returned to Lake Elsinore at the beginning of the 2022 season.[34] He batted .247 and stole 51 bases in 64 games with the team before being promoted to theHigh-AFort Wayne TinCaps of theMidwest League.[35]
On August 2, 2022, Ferguson,Eric Hosmer, Corey Rosier, and cash considerations were traded to theBoston Red Sox in exchange forJay Groome.[36][37] Ferguson finished the 2022 season with the High-AGreenville Drive.[38] Overall with three teams during 2022, he batted a combined .214 with seven home runs and 60 RBIs in 114 games.[38]
Ferguson spent most of 2023 with Greenville, while also playing fiveTriple-A games with theWorcester Red Sox.[38] Overall for the 2023 season, he batted .228 with five home runs and 34RBIs in 91 games.[38]

Following the season, the Red Sox added Garcia to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[46]

Jordan rose to prominence as a child when hewent viral after hitting a 395-foot (120 m) home run atGlobe Life Park in Arlington at age 11 and a 500-foot (150 m) home run at age 13.[52][53] In eighth grade, he committed to playcollege baseball atMississippi State University.[54] He attendedDeSoto Central High School inSouthaven, Mississippi.[55][56]
In 2019, he hit .440 with ten home runs and 46 RBIs.[57] Following the season, he reclassified from the class of 2021 to the class of 2020.[56] That summer, he won the 2019 High School Home Run Derby atProgressive Field, hitting a total of 27 home runs over three rounds.[58][59][60] He also played in theUnder Armour All-America Baseball Game and the Perfect Game All-American Classic.[61] In 2020, his senior year, he batted .422 with six doubles, five triples and four RBIs before the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic; he was named the Gatorade Mississippi Baseball Player of the Year.[62]
Jordan was selected by theBoston Red Sox in the third round (89th overall) of the2020 Major League Baseball draft.[63][64] He signed for $1.75 million.[65] Due to the cancellation of the 2020 minor league season, he spent the summer working out and practicing in his home state of Mississippi.[66] Following that summer, he spent time atFenway South participating in Boston's instructional league.[67] Jordan began the 2021 season inextended spring training before being assigned to the Rookie-levelFlorida Complex League Red Sox in late June.[68] In early August, after batting .362 with four home runs and seven doubles over 19 games, he was promoted to theSalem Red Sox of theLow-A East.[69][70] Over nine games with Salem, Jordan hit .250 with two home runs and seven RBIs.[71]
Jordan returned to Salem to open the 2022 season.[72] In early August, he was promoted to theGreenville Drive of theHigh-ASouth Atlantic League.[73] Over 120 games between both teams, heslashed .289/.363/.445 with 12 home runs, 68 RBIs, and thirty doubles.[74] During the 2023 season, Jordan batted .324 in 73 games with Greenville,[74] and batted .254 with six home runs and 31 RBIs in 49 games with thePortland Sea Dogs.[75]
In early October 2023, Jordan wrote onTwitter about "dealing with anxiety and depression after seeing so many stories about it."[75] Jordan returned to Portland to begin the 2024 season, ranked as the Red Sox' number 21 minor-league prospect byBaseball America.[12]

Liu Chih-jung (Chinese:劉致榮; born April 7, 1999) is a Taiwaneseprofessional baseballpitcher in theBoston Red Sox organization.
Liu was ashortstop and pitcher in high school. Due to a heavy pitching load in high school, his coaches atChinese Culture University utilized his skills solely as aposition player during his first season of collegiate baseball. He returned to pitching in 2019.[76]
Liu signed with theBoston Red Sox as a pitcher on October 23, 2019, for US$750,000.[77][78][79] Liu arrived in the United States forspring training with the Red Sox in February 2020.[80][81][82] After the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic, Liu was invited to participate in the Red Sox' fall instructional league.[83] Liu began the 2021 season inextended spring training, was first assigned to theFlorida Complex League Red Sox where he made a single start,[84] and was then promoted to theSalem Red Sox in early July.[85] Overall during the 2021 season, he compiled a 4.23earned run average (ERA) and 5–1win–loss record in 13 starts while striking out 60 batters in55+1⁄3innings pitched.[84]
Liu began the 2022 season inHigh-A with theGreenville Drive.[72] In 25 games (21 starts) with the Drive, he had a 4–11 record with a 6.10 ERA.[86] He also made one start inDouble-A for thePortland Sea Dogs, resulting in ano decision after allowing two earned runs in3+2⁄3 innings.[86] Liu spent the 2023 season with Portland, pitching to a 7–8 record in 26 games (24 starts) with a 5.35 ERA.[86]
Liu participated in the2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup forChinese Taipei as a pitcher and position player. He pitched in the2019 Asian Baseball Championship,[87] in which he was named the most valuable player,[79] and theChinese Taipei national baseball team won the gold medal. He was to appear in the2019 WBSC Premier12,[88] but sat out the tournament due to injuries.[89][90] Liu competed inbaseball at the 2022 Asian Games (the2022 Asian Games were played in 2023); appearing in two games, he pitched five innings while yielding two hits and striking out eight batters,[91] and won a silver medal with Chinese Taipei.

MLB.com ranked Mata as Boston's fourth best prospect going into the 2018 season.[94] Playing for theHigh–ASalem Red Sox, Mata was the sole Boston prospect selected to the 2018All-Star Futures Game,[95] where he pitched an inning of scoreless relief, allowing one hit while walking one and striking out one.[96] In 17 starts for Salem, Mata was 6–3 with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP.[93]
Mata started the 2019 season with Salem,[93] and was promoted to theDouble-APortland Sea Dogs on July 1.[97] Overall with both teams during the season, Mata compiled a 7–7 record with 3.43 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 105 innings.[93] After the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic, Mata was invited to participate in the Red Sox' fall instructional league.[83] Following the 2020 season, Mata was ranked byBaseball America as the Red Sox' number four prospect.[98]
On November 20, 2020, Mata was added to Boston's40-man roster in order to be protected from theRule 5 draft.[99] During 2021 spring training, he sustained a slightUCL tear.[100] On April 13, 2021, Mata underwentTommy John surgery, ending his 2021 season.[101] Mata began the 2022 season on the injured list inTriple-A with theWorcester Red Sox.[72] He resumed pitching in May inextended spring training,[102] and played in a minor-league game for the first time in over two years in early June.[103] With four different teams during 2022, Mata pitched in 19 games (18 starts) while compiling a 2.49 ERA in 83 innings with a 7–3 record.[104]
Mata spent 2023 in Triple-A with Worcester, compiling an 0–3 record in nine games (seven starts) with a 6.33 ERA in 27 innings pitched in which he gave up 30 walks and had 28 strikeouts.[104] Following the 2023 regular season, he played in theArizona Fall League, where he gave up eight earned runs in nine innings.[105][106] Mata spent much of the first half of the 2024 season on the injured list due to hamstring and shoulder issues.[107] He was transferred to the team's 60-day injured list on July 26.[108] Mata wasdesignated for assignment by the Red Sox on November 19.[109] On November 22, the Red Sox non–tendered Mata, making him a free agent.[110] He re–signed with the organization on a minor league contract the same day.[111]

Perales made his professional debut for theDominican Summer League Red Sox in 2021, and split 2022 between the rookie–levelFlorida Complex League Red Sox and Single–ASalem Red Sox. He split the 2023 campaign between Salem and theHigh-AGreenville Drive.[115] Perales posted a cumulative 1.77earned run average (ERA) in35+2⁄3innings pitched in 2022 and a 3.91 ERA in89+2⁄3 innings in 2023, primarily as a stating pitcher.[115]
On November 14, 2023, the Red Sox added Perales to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[116] He began the 2024 season with Greenville, ranked as the Red Sox' number nine minor-league prospect byBaseball America.[12] In 9 starts split between Greenville and the Double–APortland Sea Dogs, Perales compiled a 2–2 record and 2.94 ERA with 56 strikeouts across33+2⁄3 innings pitched. On June 18, 2024, it was announced that Perales would requireTommy John surgery, ending his season.[117]

Sandlin attendedOwasso High School inOwasso, Oklahoma, and playedcollege baseball atEastern Oklahoma State College and for theOklahoma Sooners. In one season at Oklahoma, he pitched in 19 games (18 starts) while posting a 5.59earned run average (ERA) and striking out 102 batters in 95 innings.[128] He was drafted by theKansas City Royals in the 11th round of the2022 Major League Baseball draft.[129]
Sandlin signed with the Royals and made his professional debut in 2022 with theArizona Complex League Royals, pitching in one game for two innings.[128] In 2023, he played for theSingle-AColumbia Fireflies and theHigh-AQuad Cities River Bandits, posting a combined 3.51 ERA in 14 games (all starts) while striking out 87 batters in66+2⁄3 innings.[128][130]
On February 17, 2024, the Royals traded Sandlin to theBoston Red Sox in exchange forJohn Schreiber.[131][132] Sandlin began the 2024 season with the Red Sox'High-A affiliate, theGreenville Drive, with whom he was 0-2 with a 5.12 ERA in 31.2 innings..[12][128] In 2024 he also pitched for the Class AAPortland Sea Dogs, with whom he was 0=2 with a 5.61 ERA in 25.2 innings.[128]
