Former Buddhist monastery in China

Huashoutai, or commonly known in its Cantonese nameWa Sau Toi (simplified Chinese:华首台;traditional Chinese:華首台;pinyin:huāshǒutái), was aBuddhist monastery on the sacred mountainLuofushan. It was destroyed in 1949.

It is located inBoluo County,Huizhou, Guangdong, China.

History

TheChan teacher andSouthern Dragon Kung Fu masterDaai Yuk was a monk at Wa Sau Toi.

Lai Chi, the founder of the Wu Jo An nunnery inGuangzhou, was 35th generation in theCaodong school of Chan Buddhism from Wa Sau Toi.
