The House of the Estates (Finnish:Säätytalo, Swedish:Ständerhuset) is a historical building inHelsinki,Finland. It is located opposite of theBank of Finland building, immediately northeast ofHelsinki Cathedral.
It was built in 1888-1890 and inaugurated in January 1891. ArchitectGustaf Nyström designed the building.[1] Thetympanum depictingAlexander I at the 1809Diet of Finland was sculpted byEmil Wikström.[2][3][4]

It is also the established location for official coalition talks after general elections and for the sessions ofHigh Court of Impeachment. In addition, the house is used by scientific and scholarly organizations for meetings. The building is owned by theRepublic of Finland throughSenate Properties.[1][2][3]
