Hippotragus/hɪˈpɒtrəɡəs/ is agenus ofantelopes which includes two living and one recently extinct species,[3] as well as some fossil relatives. Thegenus name comes fromAncient Greekἵππος (híppos), meaning "horse", andτράγος (trágos), meaning "he-goat", and thus, "horse goat".
