High school basketball, also known asprep basketball, is the sport ofbasketball as played byhigh school teams in the United States and Canada.[1][2][3]

Top high school athletes sometimes go on to playcollege basketball after graduating. Some players weredrafted directly from high school to play professionally in theNational Basketball Association, including future NBA starsKevin Garnett,Kobe Bryant,Tracy McGrady, andLeBron James.
