High Council for Human Rights (Persian:ستاد حقوق بشر,Sitad-e Heqâvâq-e Beshir) is thegovernmentalnational human rights institution ofIran, subdivision to theJudiciary of Iran.[1]
The council rejects and condemns appointment ofSpecial Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran by United Nations[2] and strongly opposes the western countries' positions aboutcurrent human rights situation in Iran. It also assumes the "true face" of human rights should be sought throughIslam.[3]
The council has challengedlaws against Holocaust denial, spread ofIslamophobia,forced unveiling in schools, specifically in France as being against human rights.[1]
