Hesperocyparis benthamii is a species ofwestern cypress native to Mexico.
Hesperocyparis benthamii was scientifically described by the Austrian botanistStephan Endlicher in 1847 and given the scientific nameCupressus benthamii. It has at times been considered a subspecies of what was then known asCupressus lusitanica. As of 2024[update] it is listed as a species in the genusHesperocyparis, the western cypresses, byPlants of the World Online andWorld Flora Online.[1][2]
