Hernán is a Spanish,Nahuatl, andMaya languagehistorical drama television series co-produced byTelevisión Azteca, Dopamine, and Onza Entertainment that became available forstreaming worldwide onAmazon Prime Video on 21 November 2019,[1] except in the United States,[1] and it will subsequently premiere on 22 November 2019 onHistory in Latin America,[1] and later onTV Azteca on 24 November 2019 in Mexico.[1] The first season consists of 8 episodes,[2] and a second season has been confirmed, which will begin filming in January 2020.[2] The series planned its premiere as part of the 500th anniversary of theFall of Tenochtitlan[2] and revolves aroundHernán Cortés (Óscar Jaenada) from his arrival at theMexican coast until the defeat of the Mexicas.[2]
A+E Networks International agreed to globally distribute the series in November 2019.[3]
