Heracleium orHerakleion (Ancient Greek:Ἡράκλειον), also known asLamyron (Λαμυρών),[1] was a port town ofancient Pontus, on theBlack Sea,[2] betweenAmisus andPolemonium. It was situated on a promontory of the same name calledHerakleios akra (Ἡράκλειος ἄκρα) byStrabo,[3] andHerakleous Akron (Ἡρακλέους ἄκρον) byPtolemy[4]).
Its site is north of the mouth of theTerme River,Anatolia.[2][1]
