This is thepronunciation key forIPA transcriptions of Korean on Wikipedia.
It provides a set of symbols to represent the pronunciation of Korean in Wikipedia articles, and example words that illustrate the sounds that correspond to them. Integrity must be maintained between the key and the transcriptions that link here; do not change any symbol or value without establishingconsensus on thetalk page first.

  1. ^abcdThe plain stops and affricate/ptk/ are voiced to[bdɡ] respectively between voiced sounds.
  2. ^abcdㅎ is voiced between voiced sounds.
  3. ^ab[ɸ] is the allophone of/h/ before/u/ or/w/.
  4. ^ab[ç] is the allophone of/h/ before/i/ or/j/.
  5. ^abɕ͈] are the allophones of/sʰs͈/ before/i/ and/j/.
  6. ^abcd[tsts͈tsʰdz] occur in the North Korean dialect.
