Heena Gavit (born 28 June 1987) is an IndianBharatiya Janata Party politician fromMaharashtra. She was a member of theLok Sabha from2014 to2024, representing theNandurbar constituency. She is a National Spokesperson of the BJP.[2]

Professional career

Heena Gavit is the daughter ofVijaykumar Gavit, aBharatiya Janata Party & Ex-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)MLA from theNandurbar Assembly constituency. She is a doctor by profession.[3]

Political career

In the2014 Lok Sabha elections, she defeatedManikrao Hodlya Gavit, a nine-timeMP from Nandurbar. Manikrao'sIndian National Congress held the seat since 1981. Heena's victory of margin was 106905 votes.[4][5]

Along withRaksha Khadse, she became the youngest MP in the16th Lok Sabha.[6]

During 2024 Indian General Elections, She was defeated by Adv. Goval Padvi of Indian National Congress by 1,59,120 votes.

Controversy

On 5 August 2018, the protesters who were observing a dharna outside the Dhule Collector's office for the past 16 days attacked Heena Gavit's car.[7][8][9][10]
