Harry Aloysius Hanebrink (November 12, 1927 – September 9, 1996) was an American professionalbaseballbackupsecond baseman/left fielder, who played inMajor League Baseball (MLB) for theMilwaukee Braves (1953, 1957–1958) andPhiladelphia Phillies (1959). Listed at 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m), 165 lb., Hanebrink batted left-handed and threw right-handed.[1]

Career

In a four-season big league career, Hanebrink was a .224hitter (71-for-317), with sixhome runs, and 25runs batted in (RBI), in 177 games, including sevendoubles, twotriples, and onestolen base.[1]

Hanebrink made his MLB debut on May 3, 1953.[2] He was a member of the Braves team that lost the1958 World Series to theNew York Yankees.[3]

After baseball

Hanebrink, a native ofSt. Louis, Missouri, was aUnited States NavyWorld War II veteran. He was a real estate broker for about 20 years with Dolan Realtors in St. Louis and a shuttle bus driver for QuickPark atLambert Field, from 1992 until his death. On September 9, 1996, Hanebrink died inBridgeton, Missouri, at the age of 68 from an aneurysm.[2]
