Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park is aMarylandstate park dedicated to the life and work ofabolitionist andUnderground Railroad activistHarriet Tubman. The park is onRoute 335 nearChurch Creek inDorchester County, adjacent toBlackwater National Wildlife Refuge.[3]

History

The park was created in 2007 through a land swap with theU.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and developed in conjunction with theHarriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park. The park is the trailhead for the 125-mile (201 km)Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway andAll American Road.[3] TheHarriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center opened in the park on March 11, 2017.[4]
