Harriet Bracken

Harriet Bracken (May 20, 1919 – March 9, 2010) was the first woman vice president of theHuntington National Bank.

Biography

Harriet Oelgoetz was born on May 20, 1919, inColumbus, Ohio, to Joseph and Ida Oelgoetz.[1]

In 1941, Bracken graduated from theOhio State University with a BS in journalism. She later became the advertising director forF & R Lazarus Company. In 1966, she became the first woman vice president of the Huntington National Bank where she was responsible for the planning, administration and execution of public relations functions and was a driving force behind the introduction of theautomated teller machine (ATM). She retired in 1982.[1][2]

Bracken was inducted into theOhio Women's Hall of Fame in 1978.[2][3]
