Harold Desty Moukoudi (born 27 November 1997) is a professionalfootballer who plays as acentre-back forSuper League Greece clubAEK Athens. Born in France, he represents Cameroon at international level.
Moukoudi was born inBondy, the same commune thatKylian Mbappé hails from. His parents were born inDouala,Cameroon. He acquiredFrench nationality on 17 January 2000 through the collective effect of his father'snaturalization.[1]
At the end of the contract in June 2019, he signed on 29 March 2019 in favour ofAS Saint-Étienne.[2] Moukoudi takes his first steps under the on August 10, 2019, the first day of the2019–20 Ligue 1 season against theDijon FCO. He is in central defense alongsideLoïc Perrin and participates in theLes Verts's victory over the score of two goals to one.
On January 31, 2020, he was loaned toMiddlesbrough. He is remembered by Saint-Étienne as early as July, in order to compete in theCoupe de France final againstPSG.[3] Moukoudi established himself in theLes Verts workforce as a reliable defence value in the following year. But the 2021-2022 season of the formerLe Havre is a nightmare that he competes in 26 games under the green jersey, and wins no victory.[4] The latter were relegated toLigue 2 after a lose in return againstAuxerre.[5]
On 17 August 2022, following his decision to leaveSaint-Étienne, Moukoudi travelled toAthens to discuss a possible move toAEK.[6] One day later, the Greek club officially announced the signing of Moukoudi on a free transfer, until the summer of 2026.[7]
On 14 May 2023,AEK celebrated their 13th championship, after a comfortable 4–0 home win overVolos.[8] Ten days later, Moukoudi scored in theGreek Cup final, which sawAEK prevail overPAOK with a 2–0 win and seal their firstdouble since 1978 and third overall, despite playing with ten players from the sixth minute.[9]
In early July,Lens offered a sum between €8 and €10 million, but the greek club turned it down.[10]
Due to hisdual nationality, Moukoudi was originally eligible to play for both the Cameroonian and French national teams. He is a former youth international for France.[11] He debuted for the seniorCameroon national team in a 0–0friendly tie withTunisia on 12 October 2019.[12]
Moukoudi competes for his first international competition at the2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
On 28 December 2023, he was selected from the list of 27 Cameroonian players selected to compete in the2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
