Harlan Parker Banks (September 1, 1913 – November 22, 1998) was an Americanpaleobotanist and Liberty Hyde Bailey Professor Emeritus in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences atCornell University, known for his studies ofDevonian plants. AFulbright Research Scholar andGuggenheim Fellow, he was afellow of theAmerican Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of theNational Academy of Sciences, and president of theBotanical Society of America.[1]
