Haris Alihodžić (born 12 April 1968) is a Bosnianfootball manager and formerplayer.

Club career

For a big part of his career, Alihodžić played for hometown clubŽeljezničar, with whom he won threeBosnian championship titles, threeBosnian Cups and threeBosnian Supercups.[1] He also had brief spells withRapid Wien andFavoritner AC in Austria,Antalyaspor in the TurkishSüper Lig andMura in Slovenia.[2][3]

International career

Alihodžić made his senior debut forBosnia and Herzegovina in an October 2002friendly match againstGermany and has earned a total of 2 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was a March 2003European Championship qualification match againstLuxembourg.[4]

Managerial and administrative career

AfterEdis Mulalić was sacked as manager ofŽeljezničar, Alihodžić, the club's sporting director at the time, took over ascaretaker manager on 7 May 2016.[5] He led the team in one game, a 1–1 draw againstSlavija Sarajevo in the last round of the2015–16 Bosnian Premier League season.[6]

On 12 July 2017, Alihodžić became the director of the youth school of Željezničar.[7] He worked as director until July 2022, when he was replaced byEdin Ćurić.[8]

On 1 November 2023, Alihodžić was named as Željezničar's caretaker manager.[9] He led the side to a league victory againstSloga Meridian on 4 November.[10]

Bosnia and Herzegovina U21

On 6 March 2020, afterSlobodan Starčević became the new head coach of theBosnia and Herzegovina U21 national team, it was announced that Alihodžić, alongsideMario Ivanković, had been named as the new assistant coaches of Starčević.[11]
