Hardcore Justice , originally known asHard Justice , was an annualprofessional wrestling Impact Plus event produced byImpact Wrestling . It was originally introduced as apay-per-view (PPV)event held by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2005. The first event was held in May 2005 and after 2006, they had all been held in August. Until 2010, the event was known as Hard Justice. TNA dropped Hardcore Justice as a pay-per-view event in 2013 after announcing only four pay-per-view events would take place through the year and it was retained as a special episode of TNA's weekly broadcast ofImpact Wrestling .[ 1]
Theinaugural Hard Justice event took place on May 15, 2005, at theTNA Impact! Zone inOrlando, Florida .[ 2] The event opened with a ten-bell salute toChris Candido , who died on April 28, 2005, due to blood clot from surgery, for a leg injury he suffered on theinaugural Lockdown event, which took part on April 24 of that year.[ 3] On August 8, 2010, The event was re-named the event toHardcore Justice , in honor ofExtreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).[ 4]
