Hansa Yogendra (born 8 October 1947) is an Indianyoga guru, author, researcher and TV personality.[1][2][3] She is director ofThe Yoga Institute inMumbai, founded by her father-in-lawShri Yogendra. It is a government recognized non-profit organization and the oldest organized yoga center in the world, founded in 1918.[4][5]
She was presenter of the television seriesYoga for Better Living, aired onDD National in 1980s.[6]She is the chair of the Yoga Certification Committee forQuality Council of India (QCI)[7] and President of the International Board of Yoga.[5] She is the Vice President of the Indian Yoga Association.
Born on 8 October 1947 to Jitendra Phulchand Patni and Tara Patni, in aJain family, she completed her graduation in science fromMithibai College. Later, she completed her Yoga teacher training course atThe Yoga Institute. She holds a degree in Law from theGovernment Law College, Mumbai. She received aPh.D from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines in February 2018.[8]
