Halford is a village andcivil parish about 3 miles (5 km) north ofShipston-on-Stour inWarwickshire,England. The village is where theFosse WayRoman road (now theA429 road) crosses theRiver Stour. The2011 Census recorded theparish's population as 341.[1] By the river are the earthworks and buried remains of HalfordCastle, amotte castle believed to be the predecessor of the presentmanor house.[citation needed]
