Hakelocaris vavassorii is an extinctspecies ofprawn belonging to the familyPenaeidae. It was named in 1994 byAlessandro Garassino, and is the only species in the genusHakelocaris.[1]
These prawns lived during theCenomanian age.[1] Fossils have been found in fossiliferous marine outcrops inHjoula andMayfouq Lebanon.[2]
