Town in ancient Phrygia

Hadrianopolis orHadrianoupolis (Ancient Greek:Ἁδριανούπολις) was a town inancient Phrygia, built by the emperorHadrian, betweenPhilomelium andTyriaeum.[1] It was a bishopric, whose bishop attended theCouncil of Chalcedon and theSecond Council of Constantinople.[2]

Its site is located nearDoğanhisar inAsiatic Turkey.[3][4]
