Homeobox protein Hox-B9 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theHOXB9gene.[5][6][7]

Function

[edit]

This gene is a member of the Abd-B homeobox family and encodes a protein with ahomeoboxDNA-binding domain. It is included in acluster of homeobox B genes located onchromosome 17. The encoded nuclear protein functions as a sequence-specifictranscription factor that is involved incell proliferation anddifferentiation. Increased expression of this gene is associated with some cases ofleukemia, prostate cancer andlung cancer.[7]

Interactions

[edit]

HOXB9 has been shown tointeract withBTG2[8] andBTG1.[8]
