Homeobox protein Hox-B7 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theHOXB7gene.[5][6]

Function

[edit]

This gene is a member of theAntp homeobox family and encodes a protein with ahomeoboxDNA-binding domain. It is included in acluster of homeobox B genes located onchromosome 17. The encodednuclear protein functions as a sequence-specifictranscription factor that is involved incell proliferation anddifferentiation. Increasedexpression of this gene is associated with some cases ofmelanoma andovarian carcinoma.[7]

Interactions

[edit]

HOXB7 has been shown tointeract withPBX1[8] andCREB-binding protein.[9]
