Gum Stump is anunincorporated community inBoggs Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States.

It is located at latitude 40.98°N, longitude 77.85°W, approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) northwest ofBellefonte, the seat ofCentre County. Its elevation is approximately 1,100 ft (340 m).

TheBellefonte and Snowshoe Railroadswitchbacks are located there. The switchbacks are the inspiration for Chuck Yungkurth's model railroad switchbacks.[2]

Gum Stump is the location of Pennsylvania State Game Lands No. 103, an 8,994-acre (36.40 km2) hunting range maintained by thePennsylvania Game Commission.
