Grizzly Island is a small island inGrizzly Bay (part ofSuisun Bay) in theSan Francisco Bay Area ofCalifornia.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] It is part ofSolano County, partially managed byReclamation Districts 2112 (Schafer Pintail), 2129 (Frost Lake) and 2136 (Grizzly West).[9] Its coordinates are38°09′05″N121°58′22″W / 38.15139°N 121.97278°W /38.15139; -121.97278 (Grizzly Island)[1]. Islands that partially cover some of its current area, labelled "Warrington Island" and "Davis Island", are shown on an 1850 survey map of theSan Francisco Bay area made byCadwalader Ringgold[10] and an 1854 map of the area byHenry Lange.[11] It is labeled, along withDeadman Island,Joice Island,Simmons Island,Ryer Island andRoe Island, on a 1902 USGS map of the area.[12]
