Griedge Yinda Colette Mbock Bathy Nka (born 26 February 1995) is a French professionalfootballer who plays as acentre-back forPremière Ligue clubParis Saint-Germain and theFrance national team.
Mbock Bathy was born inBrest to a family ofCameroonian andMaĺagasy descent. A strong centre-back, she joinedStade Briochin in 2010, which merged with En Avant de Guingamp in 2011. After four seasons with Guingamp, she moved toLyon on a four-year deal.[2] Lyon paid 100,000 euros for her, making her the most expensive transfer in the history of thePremière Ligue.[3] In June 2024, Mbock Bathy left Lyon after nine years, winning over twenty trophies, playing 193 times and scoring 36 goals.[4]
On 3 July 2024, Mbock Bathy joinedParis Saint-Germain on a three-year contract until June 2027.[5][6]
With theFrench under-17 team, Mbock Bathy played in the2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan. She was namedFIFA's Player of the Tournament after France won apenalty shootout in the final overNorth Korea, marking the occasion with a memorable dance routine.[7]
At the2013 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, Mbock Bathy was suspended for the final after being sent off in the semi-final. In the finalFrance beatEngland 2–0 afterextra time.[8]
On 23 November 2013, Mbock Bathy made her seniorFrance debut in a 10–0 win overBulgaria.[9] She scored her first international goals againstSouth Africa on 22 January 2017, scoring in the 9th and 34th minute.[10]
Mbock Bathy was called up to the final 23–player France squad for the2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.[11]
Mbock Bathy was called up to the France squad for the2016 Summer Olympics.[12]
On 30 May 2017, Mbock Bathy was named in the France squad for theUEFA Women's Euro 2017.[13]
On 2 May 2019, Mbock Bathy was named in the France squad for the2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.[14]
Mbock Bathy was called up to the France squad for theUEFA Women's Euro 2022 in May 2022.[15] During the Euros, she scored againstBelgium on 14 July 2022, scoring in the 41st minute.[16]
Mbock Bathy was called up to the France squad for the2024 Summer Olympics.[17]
Mbock's brother,Hiang'a Mbock, is also a professional footballer.[18]
