Gregory Wright (born December 22)[1] is an Americancomic book editor, writer, andcolorist known for his work on suchMarvel Comics characters asSpider-Man, theDefenders, theFantastic Four,Deathlok, andSilver Sable, and suchDC Comics characters asSuperman andBatman.
Wright grew up inNew Castle, Pennsylvania, and went tofilm school in New York.[2] In 1986, thanks to the recommendation of his good friend (and fellow aspiring filmmaker)D.G. Chichester,[3] and while "editing two films and attempting four separate screenplays,"[2] Wright was hired as a secretary for the Marvel imprintEpic Comics.[3] After working with Epic for six months, Wright was hired as Marvel editorMark Gruenwald's assistant editor.[2]
Since then, Wright has worked primarily as a freelance writer and colorist. Some of the titles he has written for includeDeathlok,Silver Sable and the Wild Pack, andMorbius, the Living Vampire, all of which he also colored. Wright has spent long stints as a colorist on titles likeGhost Rider,Marvel Comics Presents, andSpider-Man for Marvel; andBatman,Nightwing,Starman,Teen Titans, andThe Titans forDC Comics.
With artistJackson Guice, Wright created the characterCrippler inDaredevil Annual #7 (1991). Along with artistSteven Butler, Wright created the characterMan-Eater inSilver Sable and the Wild Pack #8 (Jan. 1993).
