Gregg David Garrity (born November 24, 1960) is an American former professionalfootball player who was awide receiver in theNational Football League (NFL) for thePittsburgh Steelers andPhiladelphia Eagles.[1] He playedcollege football for thePenn State Nittany Lions, and played high school football atNorth Allegheny High School inWexford, Pennsylvania. He was selected in the fifth round of the1983 NFL draft.
Garrity is notable for a diving catch in the end zone that helped the Nittany Lions clinch their first national title overGeorgia, a feat that landed him on the cover ofSports Illustrated.[2]
