Gregory Lafayette Roberts (born November 29, 1956) is an American former professionalfootball player who was aguard for five seasons in theNational Football League (NFL) andUnited States Football League (USFL) during the late 1970s and 1980s. He played college football for theOklahoma Sooners, earningunanimous All-American honors in 1978. Roberts was selected in the second round of the1979 NFL draft, and played professionally for the NFL'sTampa Bay Buccaneers and USFL'sMemphis Showboats.
Roberts was born inNacogdoches, Texas.
He attended theUniversity of Oklahoma, where he played for coachBarry Switzer'sSooners teams from 1975 to 1978. As a senior in 1978, he was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American and won theOutland Trophy as the best interior lineman in the country.
