TheGreen Islands is a smallarchipelago ofislands in theSolomon Sea, within theAutonomous Region of Bougainville, in northeasternPapua New Guinea.

They are located at4°30′S154°10′E / 4.500°S 154.167°E /-4.500; 154.167, about 200 km (124 mi) northwest ofBougainville Island, and about 200 km (124 mi) east ofRabaul andNew Britain island.

DuringWorld War II theUnited States Navy'sSeabees built a largePT Boat base on the Green Islands.^[1]
