TheGreat Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year was an award given to theGreat Midwest Conference's most outstanding player. The award was short-lived and only handed out from 1992 to 1995. Four recipients received the award, but onlyAnfernee "Penny" Hardaway won more than once. Hardaway was the award's first and second player of the year recipient honoree.

The Great Midwest Conference was anNCAA Division I conference that existed from 1991–92 to 1994–95. It was formed in 1990 with six members:Cincinnati and Memphis State (nowMemphis) from theMetro Conference;UAB from theSun Belt Conference;Marquette andSaint Louis from theMidwestern Collegiate Conference (now the Horizon League), and independentDePaul.Dayton joined in 1993.

In 1995, reunification with theMetro Conference and teams from theSouthwest Conference formedConference USA.
