Grass Valley Wilderness is awilderness area inSan Bernardino County, California, nearRidgecrest. It mainly consists of low-lying hills and flat desert covered by vegetation typical of theMohave Desert, likecreosote bush,desert scrub, and isolated stands ofJoshua trees. Fauna consists of thedesert tortoise and theMohave ground squirrel.Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake borders the area to the east and a non-wilderness road bisects the area.[2][3]
The area is managed by theBureau of Land Management Ridgecrest Field Office and was established as a part of theCalifornia Desert Protection Act of 1994.[4]
