TheGrands Moulins de Paris ("Great Mills of Paris") is a disusedflour mill located inMarquette-lez-Lille in theNord department,France. It has been an officialHistorical Monument since 2001.
The flour mill was established in 1921 near theDeûle River. It was built in a Flemish Revival style by architect Vuagnaux.[1][2][3] In 1928, the companyLes Grands Moulins de Paris purchased the site and used it until 1989,[1] when it fell into disuse. During the peak activity period, the site had around 400 employees.[3]
The flour mill was listed as an officialHistorical Monument on 30 May 2001.[1] In the 2010s, it was part of a series of renovations overseen by theEuropean Metropolis of Lille.[2] The facility will be transformed into housing by 2021 or 2022.[4]
