Gozo Region (Maltese:Reġjun Għawdex) is one of sixregions ofMalta. The region includes the islands ofGozo,Comino and several little islets such asCominotto. The region does not border any other regions, but it is close to theNorthern Region.

It was created by the Local Councils Act of 1993. It is the only original region still in existence, since the other two (Malta Majjistral andMalta Xlokk) were split into smaller regions by Act No. XVI of 2009.[1]

The current Gozo Regional Committee (Maltese:Kumitat Reġjonali Għawdex) was created by Act No. XVI of 2009, and was formally constituted in 2012.[2] It is made up of:[3]
