Subdivisions

Palestine is aunitary state, but is divided into sixteengovernorates for administrative purposes. After the signing of theOslo Accords, theWest Bank andGaza Strip were placed under the jurisdiction of thePalestinian Authority, which divided the territories intogovernorates.[1][2][3] The governorates are subdivided in turn intomunicipalities.
