In 2006,[12] Chittaranjan Mondal ofRSP won the Gosaba Assembly constituency defeating his nearest rival Jayanta Naskar ofAITC. Ganesh Chandra Mondal ofRSP won from 1977 to 2001, defeating Sujit Pramanick ofAITC in 2001[11] and 1996,[10] Jitendranath Gayen ofINC in 1991,[9] Pramila Biswas ofINC in 1987,[8] Sandhyakar Mondal ofINC in 1982[7] and Paresh Chandra Baidya ofINC in 1977.[6][21]
Paresh Chandra Baidya ofINC won in 1972.[2] Ganesh Chandra Mondal ofRSP won in 1971[4] and 1969.[3] G.N.Mondal ofBJS won in 1967.[2] The seat did not exist prior to that.
